As you have noticed the club has been repainted white, please do your best to avoid scratching the paint!
Fencing is running as usual now and I am back on the case to try and get our facilities improved.
The club is doing well and is being represented in all three weapons. People are starting to notice us, good job guys!
See you on the piste,
the club will be CLOSED from the 16th of March 2011 to the 20th of March 2011. This means there shall be no Epee or Sabre next week (labour day on Monday).
The Tuesday foil night will take place as usual.
The reason for this sudden closure is that I have finally convinced Monash Sport to start improving our facilities. As a first measure, the club will be painted off white, making it much brighter and appear larger.
I repeat there will be NO fencing on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday next week. Any fencers who decide to ignore this will not only enjoy paint fumes but also jeopardise any future renovations for the club!
On a lighter note, as the club will be closed for most of the week, we have decided to organise a movie night on campus on Thursday 17th March 2011. We will be watching a fencing related movie in one of the lecture theatres on the Clayton campus. All members are welcome and there will be free pizza and soft drink provided before the movie. The event will start at 7pm with food, and the movie will start at 7:30pm. The exact venue and movie are yet to be confirmed. If you are interested in coming to the movie night, please send me an email so that I can have a rough estimate of the number of people attending.
I apologise for the inconvenience and hope to see you all at the movie night,
P.S.: For senior members, I am trying to figure out how to register you on the Fencing Victoria database for affiliation purposes. For now the only way to affiliate is via the online system found on the Fencing Victoria home page http://www.fencingvictoria.org/
